The author investigated the change of serum, liver and heart transaminase activity in rabbits after adminstraion of predisolone and carbon tetrachloride. In this eperiment, rabbits with average bcdy weight of 1. 8kg were chocen and were divided into three groups: a group treated with carbon tetracblcride only, prednisolone only, and both of carbon tetrachloride and prednisolone.
The results of this investigation were as follows:
1) The serum G.O.T. & G.P.T. activities of normal rabbits are 202. 3 units, 102 units respectively-and those of 1 gm wet liver are 230,00040, 000, 150, 00030, 000 & these of lgm wet heart, are
65, 00012,000, 28,0004, 000 units.
2) The transaminse activity of rabbit serum treated with carbon tetrachloride only, is remarkably
increased, while that of liver is decreased.
3) The G.O.T. value of rabbit liver treated with prednisolone only is also elevated, on the other hand, the G.O.T. value of it seemed to be slightly elevated and those of serum and leant are not changed.
4) The transaminase activities of rabbit serum and liver treated with prednisolone and carbons tetrachloride are simillar to those one treated with carbon tetrachoride only.
